Short and Long text

Short Text

The Short text question type is designed for simple, quick questions which require a free text response.
To build a short text question, just type in your question text - when the survey is in Play mode, the question title will be shown above the text entry field.

Pause Mode: (as viewed by a Presenter or Host)

Play Mode: (as viewed by a Host or Presenter)

Play Mode: (as viewed by Participant, with question answered)

Participants simply type into the box to answer the question, and the click OK to submit their response. All question types will show a green bar on the left hand side when the question has been answered by the survey participant.

Long Text

Long Text questions enable the participant to provide a little more detail when responding. Creating a Long Text question is identical to the Short Text process; just type in your question text - when the survey is in Play mode, the question title will be shown above the text entry area.

Pause Mode: (as viewed by a Presenter or Host)

Play Mode: (as viewed by Host/Presenter)

In the examples here, the difference with a Long Text question type is clear - there is more room for the survey participant to write a more detailed response.

Play Mode: (as viewed by Participant, with answer submitted)

Once again, you see that the bar on the left hand side of the question turns green when the OK button has been pressed to submit the answer.

As with all question types, you may also change the colour of the text and background using the appearance buttons.
